3 Simple Tips to Jumpstart Fat Burning Every Morning

When you wake up in the morning, your brain is foggy, your body is stiff, and you're dreading what all you have on your plate for the day to come. There are a million things you have to accomplish before you even step out the door. The kids need to get ready for school; there are lunches to be packed and breakfast to be made. You're already on edge, and you feel stress taking over your entire body.

Does this sound like a typical morning to you? You're not alone. This is a typical day in most people's lives. How are you going to jumpstart your fat burn with all this on your chest as soon as that alarm goes off? Well, stay tuned because it's not that hard to get yourself off on the right foot, first thing in the morning to almost guarantee yourself a healthier day.

If you’re waking up every morning feeling exhausted and sluggish, dive into this article to learn the simple ways to get your body moving and feeling energized. Use these tips to help with fat burning and getting that mind clear of the morning fog.

WATER, BEFORE ANYTHING

When you wake up your body is completely dehydrated. Dehydration happens while sleeping. When you urinate in the morning, you probably notice a stronger color and smell of your urine. The body has removed toxins during our sleep and releases them into our urine. Our kidneys need more water in the morning to flush the leftover toxins, and well, we have gone seven to eight hours of not drinking anything.

The VERY first thing you need to do to jumpstart your metabolism and your brain is to drink at least 24oz of cold water immediately. Drink it while you wash your face, apply your makeup or preparing breakfast.

The body burns calories trying to warm the water up to body temperature. Hydrating your body increases your energy. Your brain is made up of mostly water, so drinking the H20 will help rid yourself of the dreaded brain fog. This gives you the ability to begin your day without "brain fog." Who doesn't want to start their day with a clear mind?

FEED YOUR MIND

Nothing is worse than starting your day with your heart thumping, stressing over your schedule before you even begin. Your hands feel shaky, and you feel tense. Being on edge makes every little thing seem like a mountain too high to climb. You end up feeling exhausted right off the bat.

Take a few minutes to calm yourself. Sit on the edge of your bed (while sipping your water, of course) and relax your mind. Think uplifting thoughts, de-stress yourself. Think of the things that are good in your life, all the goals you know you will accomplish and all the things you have to be grateful for. I know this sounds cliche, but you have to work on this. It's not easy, but you need to be intentional with it. I'm surprised how much better my days are when I take an extra five minutes to do this. Tell yourself you ARE in a good mood and you WILL have a good day. Your mindset will determine your entire day, so look to positive thoughts daily. Our minds are powerful things, and we should use them to the best of our benefits.

SET YOUR TONE

Stay away from your phone. You don't need to look at texts, email and social media notifications. All of these can wait. If there's an emergency, you'll know it. Keep the TV off. If you flip to the morning news and it's filled with natural disasters and terrible world events, you'll start to feel the toxicity of the events occurring. You may not realize it, but our environment seeps into our souls and affects how we think and feel internally.

Before you go to bed at night, pick out a podcast, audiobook or a playlist that you look forward to listening too, so it's ready to go in the morning. Make sure you turn off other notifications. When you start your morning routine, put your headphones in and focus your mind. This will be a great way to jumpstart your mindset for the day. (Keep sipping that water)

DO A FOUR MINUTE WORKOUT

Getting your metabolism revved up first thing in the morning will be a game changer for you. I'm not saying get up at the crack of dawn and hit the gym. I'm also not telling you to rearrange your entire workout routine. If you workout in the evenings, keep doing that. But adding this four-minute workout will help boost your metabolism through the roof, only adding to your results.

Here's a 4-minute workout for you to try:

30 seconds Body Weight Squats

30 seconds Butt Kickers

30 seconds Mountain Climbers

30 seconds Jumping Jacks

30 seconds Pushups

30 seconds Plank

30 seconds Jump Squats

30 seconds Reverse Lunges



DONE! No equipment needed, very little space required and quick. Now you have supercharged your metabolism, kickstarted your fat burn and loosened up your body and mind to start your day. Shoot to do this every day during the week. (Drink that water, seven days a week)

This circuit will warm up your body, kick your energy into high gear and make you feel already accomplished for the day. When you start out doing something good for your body, you'll find you make healthier choices throughout the day.

I'm big about keeping things simple. You don't need to get up every morning to run a marathon or lose two hours of precious sleep. Everything I have laid out for you will literally take up to15 minutes of your day, but the benefits will carry throughout your entire day.  

Don't look at the start of your day as a bad thing. Think about how lucky we are to wake up being healthy because many people are not that fortunate. Look at the bright side of things and take care of you before you do anything. You will be a much happy, clear-headed person and your family will be thankful. Keep drinking that water and start your day with a grateful heart. Everything else will fall in place
